The fast way
Don't see a home button? Keep reading.
Full setup
For the complete experience - a custom startup page, new tab page, and home button.
1. Enable and set the home button
- Open Brave Settings (click the menu (≡) then Settings, or paste
brave://settings/appearancein the address bar) - Under Appearance, toggle Show home button on
- Select Enter custom web address
- Enter your custom URL (e.g.,
https://nugs.gg/start)
2. Set your new tab page
- Go to Get Started in the sidebar (or paste
brave://settings/getStartedin the address bar) - Under New tab page shows, select Homepage
This makes every new tab open your custom URL instead of Brave's default dashboard.
3. Set your startup page
Still on the same page:
- Under On startup, select Open the New Tab page
Now Brave will open your custom page when you launch the browser.
Done
Open a new tab or restart Brave. You should now see your custom homepage. (If you haven't picked one yet, nugs.gg/start is pretty great 😉)
Troubleshooting
Brave new tab page not working? Make sure you selected "Homepage" (not "Dashboard") under "New tab page shows."
Brave homepage not working? Check that "Show home button" is toggled on in Appearance settings, and that you entered a valid URL starting with "https://".
Startup page not loading? Confirm "On startup" is set to "Open the New Tab page" in Settings → Get Started.
